Facebook is ending its iconic Oculus Rift line of virtual reality headsets, the company announced on Wednesday.
The company said it would stop making wired VR headsets - like the Rift - in favor of wireless devices that could function as full computers. The next headset in this line is the Oculus Quest 2, which debuts in October.
"We're going to focus on standalone VR headsets moving forward," Facebook said in a blog post. "We'll no longer pursue PC-only hardware, with sales of Rift S ending in 2021."
