Your local doctor might not get access to the COVID-19 vaccine - here's why

Many independently-owned doctors offices say they don't have access to COVID-19 vaccines and have heard little from the federal or state governments about if or when they might receive doses.
Hospitals, large retail pharmacies, and federally-qualified health centers are the main distributors of the vaccine, sources told Insider.
So far, they've vaccinated nearly 9 million individuals in the US, according to the Centers...

Covid-19 vaccine forwarded vaccine science years, Pfizer's CEO said, and now it's time to use advances for other viral diseases, such as the flu.
"We'll be able to provide medical solutions for other devastating diseases," the CEO said.
The Pfizer BioNTech vaccine used a new method with messenger RNA to initiate the immune response. Moderna's vaccine also used mRNA.

Data on Moderna's Covid-19 vaccine in young children won't be available until 2022, CEO says at JPMorgan Healthcare conference.
The study will take longer because they have to start at a much lower dose.
During the conference, Moderna said they are expecting to deliver between 600 million and 1 billion doses this year. In its presentation Tuesday, Pfizer said it's expecting to produce around 2 billion doses.
