• Amazon is scrambling to find truck drivers, and now forced to turn to the big trucking firms it has previously shunned

6 days ago - By Business Insider

A crunch in trucking capacity is hitting Amazon.
Amazon is asking major trucking companies for help moving loads as their in-house trucking network.
This is an about-face for a company who depended on small trucking businesses or individual truck drivers for capacity.
The sudden boom in trucking rates has galvanized many of Amazon's truck drivers, who are not directly employed by the company, to move loads for other customers.
An Amazon spokesperson told Business Insider works with small, medium-sized, and large trucking companies.
