    The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is, on paper, a great compromise for buyers looking to get a car that's capable of offering an all-electric range for daily commuting, can make use of rapid charging infrastructure, is a decent size and can also do a little light towing or off-roading when required.
    Sales in Japan and Europe have remained pretty high ever since the Outlander PHEV launched back in 2013. In the U.S. and Canada however (where sales didn't begin until the end of last year), this mid-size SUV hasn't gained a whole lot of traction in the plug-in vehicle marketplace.
