• CHTA urges Caribbean islands to shorten isolation times for “positive” travellers

    The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association is asking the region's government leaders to reduce the isolation periods for travellers who test positive for COVID-19, in an effort to make inbound travel as seamless as possible.
    The CHTA is asked that isolation timelines be brought more in line with those in the UK and the U.S.
    Currently the isolation period for a COVID-positive person in the U.S. is five days. In the UK, it's seven days.

    Walmart is cutting its paid COVID leave down from two weeks to one week.
    Employees who test positive for COVID-19 are eligible for paid leave, as well as those required to quarantine by the company or a government agency.
    The CDC has shortened its isolation recommendation for asymptomatic people to five days.

    British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday said that arrivals in England would no longer need to take a pre-departure test and could take a rapid lateral flow test rather than a PCR test once they arrive.
    In England, from 4am on Friday, we will be scrapping a pre-departure test which discourages many from travelling for fear of being trapped overseas and incurring significant extra expense, Johnson told lawmakers.
