• UNGA meet to reverse decline in global tourism after the pandemic

    Abdulla Shahid, the President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly , spoke about the need to build a more sustainable, strong and responsible global tourism sector as part of the “long journey” to pull throughthe pandemic.
    The first-ever High-Level Thematic Debate on Sustainable Tourism was held at the UN headquarters in New York, where Shahid said that the Covid-19 pandemic stopped the entire tourism industry, giving a “devastating blow to the global economy.”
