• Norwegian third quarter results heavily impacted by COVID-19

    Norwegian today reported its third-quarter 2020 results. As anticipated, these were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with a net loss of NOK 980 million. Norwegian carried approximately one million customers, a decrease of 91 percent compared to the same period last year showing a slight improvement on the previous Q2 decrease of 99 percent. Norwegian continued to successfully convert debt and implement a series of cost-reduction measures throughout the third quarter.

    The US has broken its April 15 record for COVID hospitalizations, according to The Covid Tracking Project, as winter nears.
    The US has recorded 1 million new cases within the first ten days of November 2020. Today, at least 131,000 cases were recorded nationally, according to The Covid Tracking Project.

    China reported 22 new COVID-19 cases as of Nov. 9, down from 33 cases a day earlier, its health authority said on Tuesday. The National Health Commission said one of the new cases was a local infection reported in Shanghai, while the remaining 21 cases were imported by people returning from overseas. The commission also reported 25 new asymptomatic cases, up from nine a day earlier. On Tuesday, one new locally transmitted case was reported in the city of Fuyang in the eastern province of Anhui, the province's first since Feb. 27. This case is not included in the Nov. 9 count.
