    While evidence suggests probiotics can be beneficial to your health, they may also have serious side effects.
    A new study found probiotics can cause bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine and symptoms of disorienting brain fogginess.
    Most symptoms are temporary - for patients who replaced probiotics with antibiotics, most symptoms of brain fogginess and bloating were alleviated.
    The lead researcher of the study said probiotics should be "treated as a drug," rather than a food supplement.
